Round Robin betting is a way of making ten bets in one. So here, you pick three selections that form the main part of the bet. Let’s say that it’s a weekend during the NFL season. Having studied the form of the teams playing, you’ve surmised that San Francisco, Cleveland, and Minnesota all have a good chance to win. You make a Round Robin bet on these three teams.

By making it a Round Robin bet, you have bet on San Francisco, Cleveland and Minnesota all winning as part of a treble. You’ve also bet on them all individually to win as single bets. Additionally, you’ve made three double bets: San Francisco and Cleveland to win, Cleveland and Minnesota to win, and Minnesota and San Francisco to win. So, even if one team – let’s say it’s Minnesota – lets down your treble bet, you still have some singles that have won, and you also have the San Francisco-Cleveland double paying out.

The eagle-eyed among you will have noted that this adds up to seven bets: 1x treble, 3x doubles and 3x singles. A Round Robin bet, however, has the potential to add three more singles depending on the results of the individual bets. In this case the original singles plus the bonus ones are referred to as six single bets around.
